“By Request”, the latest release
from Barb Prosser Winder, is a mixture of the old hymns of
the church and covers of today’s popular gospel artists.
Barb’s musical style stems from her love of the country
influences she had growing up. “I love traditional music
with twin fiddles and steel guitar, with mandolin and keys
sprinkled in to give that country feel”. Because audiences
everywhere have asked, “Could you please sing those
old songs from our hymn book?” Barb decided to record
a few of her own personal favourites as well as those of family
and friends. The end result is a beautiful blend of old and
new.
Barb dedicates the song she wrote on this album, I Give It
All to You, to all single Moms who feel that desperation and
struggle that she felt in the same situation. “I was
tired of trying to manage everything on my own. I knew that
without God in control of my life, these trials would only
intensify to a point where I would be pulled completely under.
I’m so thankful for His amazing grace that was extended
to even me”. |
