Welcome
to my brand new, redesigned home on the web. I hope you will visit
often and enjoy and be blessed by what you see and hear. I will
feature photos from time to time from
my husband’s personal collection of Maritime
scenery. If you’ve never been to the Canadian Maritimes
you can take a “peak” whenever you drop by. We would
love to hear from you by email.
God Bless!

New Music!
"Coming Home for Christmas"
“I’m so excited about this new Christmas project. We wanted to make this a very personal album, with Arend’s photos from our own home and property and we hope that folks feel that “warmth” as they listen to these 12 songs”.
Barb’s closeness to her family ties comes through especially on “Away in a Manger”, featuring voices of 3 of her great-nieces, a niece and nephew, and little grandson (6 months old) and 2 year-old grand-daughter. These “little people” as she calls them, are so important and special and “we need to not forget their place and meaning in our lives”.
Songs like “I’ll be Home with Bells On”, “Candle in the Window” and “On This Day”, and “Chestnuts Roasting” are hearty and uplifting, while “Sweet Little Jesus Boy”, “The Night before Christmas” and “Take a Walk” convey the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. “I’ve decided not to include the “Ho-Ho” type songs, but I still want our audience to experience joy and hope and peace as they listen to this recording”.
“It Could Happen Again”, a story about a Christmas Eve along the battle lines of World War I, is dedicated to our military, the troops at home and abroad, as they serve this great land of ours, and uphold our freedom and faith. During this Christmas season, we will be dedicating this powerful song to our military and their families. We are indeed blessed to live in this beautiful country where our freedom is an accepted (and maybe even taken too much for granted) way of life. And, Barb says, “The “voice” (done by her husband Arend) at the beginning of the song is, and continues to be my greatest support in each of my endeavours; I could not do this without him!”

Writing
Barb has enjoyed creative writing since she was a very young child. Her (secret) dream was always to be able to share her stories, inspired by her own life, through song as well as inspirational short stories. She is currently working on a novel, set in the Maritimes. Barb invites you to read a short story... (more)

The Night Before Christmas
by Barb Prosser Winder
A loud clunk on the hardwood floor aroused Lil Campbell from her late afternoon catnap. The photo box she’d been holding on her lap had slipped from her curled fingers, to land unceremoniously at her feet, spilling the contents and startling Lil to attention.
“What on earth?” she said aloud, to the walls and furniture that surrounded her worn leather recliner. The dimming light disoriented her for a few seconds, while she got her bearings, gradually remembering what she’d been thinking on these past few hours... Barb invites you to read the entire short story…

In this online journal, I will share with you my faith journey as well as “snippets” from life in the Maritimes. I invite you to drop by often and “catch-up” on what’s happening. From time to time I may include links to favourite artists as well as writers I’ve met and admire. I might even toss in a recipe or two that we serve to our guests. The Maritime region is (of course) one of my favourite spots on the planet and I could not help but paint a few scenes for your enjoyment.
